A COPY OF AN OLD EMAIL TO HELP REINSTALL OOTP WHEN NECESSARY Smile

Original email:

...or "How I learned to stop worrying and love the Commish (even though he's a moron)"

I've screwed things up here. Thanks to Ben, I've discovered that I directed you astray on importing your first file. Maybe I just should have read the instructions . . .

I've now tried to do everything just as I was instructed and created a new game that works for me. Hopefully, we all will have the same good luck. So, please try this:

1) Download, install and activate OOTP 2007 from http://www.ootpbaseball.net/buy.php#order
2) Go your C:Documents and Settings"WHATEVER YOUR MAIN FOLDER IS NAMED"My DocumentsSports InteractiveOOTP Baseball 2007datasaved_games folder
3) Create a new folder entitled "Antiquity League.lg" or just "Antiquity.lg" or whatever else you like but it has to end with ".lg"
4) Download this file -- http://antiquityleague.anthonygiacalone.net/export/antiquity.lg.tar.gz -- and save it in the "Antiquty League.lg" folder that you just created. This will create a zip file approximately 3.4MB.
5) Unzip the "antiquity.lg.tar.gz" file into the Antiquity League folder. You can do this by right clicking on the .tar.gz file and use one of the unzipping programs that you may have on your computer (PKZIP, Power Archiver or even Windows Compressed Folders). The result will be a larger zipped file (about 15.4 MB) called "Antiquity.lg"
6) Unzip the larger "Antiquity.lg" folder into the "Antiquity League.lg" folder that it is currently in. This should create 15 files (coaches, human_managers, messages, names, nathions2 . . . .) and two folders (messages, news).
7) Open your OOTP 2007 program. Click on "load game" which will launch a box with "stored games" and you should see a entry of "Antiquity League" (or whatever you named the folder that you zipped everything into).

***** if something has gone wrong, then you'll see a corrupt file warning at this point *****

Cool Select "Antiquity League" entry which should open a screen with all the managers.
Cool Click on your name. You should see a screen titled "Database info" (maybe you'll see a note that says "database not found" but that should be fine).
9) Go to the "manager" tab right below your name at the top of the game and click on "home page" This will bring you to a handy screen from which you can do and see almost anything in the game.
10) After the first successful installation you will never need to do this again (unless something goes horribly wrong). You will do all future updating of league files from your "home page" or from the "game/load online league file" command. And you will send me any roster moves, or lineup changes or offers of extension or whatever from the "Export team via FTP" command. All we have to do is get past this first hurdle.

This all worked for me, so, hopefully, I've finally done this correctly.

Please let me know if anyone is still having problems.
